CPR training for the whole practice JUNE
A Cardiac Arrest is a sudden and life-threatening medical emergency that requires immediate intervention as the delay in prompt treatment can significantly compromise an individual’s health and lead to death. However, through practicing the chain of survival with early recognition and call for assistance, early CPR and early defibrillation, the chances of survival can increase dramatically
In this course, you will learn CPR skills on both an Adult and Infant in line with the Australian Resuscitation Guidelines whilst utilising the universal pneumonic ‘DRSABCD’. Further you will learn to use an Automated defibrillator (AED), demonstrate the recovery position and what to do if the casualty regurgitates or vomits.
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
• Recognise and diagnose the signs and symptoms of a cardiac arrest.
• Locate the correct compression point to effectively administer CPR.
• Demonstrate CPR on an unconscious, non-breathing adult and infant.
• Demonstrate effective and safe use of an AED, delivering at least one shock.
• Identify when and how to manage an unconscious breathing casualty
This is a nationally recognised and accredited training course that is required to be linked to your government USI number (unique student identifier) as an industry requirement.

Mr Jonathan Wannous
Jonathan is a motivated trainer for Life Saving First Aid and is passionate about educating people, helping them become proficient first responders in emergency situations.
Jonathan’s ambition to train people in First Aid stems from his previous work experience, where he noticed that his colleagues and the industry weren’t sufficiently prepared to provide basic emergency life support. This led to him attaining a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, with his focus being on CPR, First Aid & Manual Handling training for workplaces and the public.
Since then Jonathan (Jono) has trained over 5,000 people in CPR & First Aid and brings a welcoming charisma to each class he hosts.
